HumanitZ, a new co-op zombie survival game by Yodubzz Studios, has officially launched its version 1.0 on Steam after two years in Early Access. Built using Unreal Engine, the game blends deep survival systems, base-building mechanics, and player-driven progression, attracting attention from fans of games like Project Zomboid.
The gameplay centers around survival in a world overrun by zombies known as Zeeks. Players manage hunger, thirst, health, and stamina while scavenging resources, crafting gear, and building fortified bases. HumanitZ supports both solo and multiplayer modes, with optional PvP and PvE servers. The sandbox design allows players to settle in urban ruins or rural zones, each offering different levels of risk and resource density.
Players begin by choosing from one of twelve professions, including roles like farmer, mechanic, or thief, each affecting skills and progression paths. There are also afflictions such as bad backs or poor circulation that impact gameplay, adding another strategic layer. The game also features a morality system influencing decisions during quests and interactions with NPCs.

Steam reviews have been mostly positive, with players praising the game’s performance improvements and content-rich update history. According to SteamDB, HumanitZ recently hit a peak of 8,000 concurrent players, its highest since entering Early Access. Data from Gamalytic estimates over 400,000 copies have been sold, with average player engagement exceeding 40 hours. The game also includes optional scenario-based missions and dynamic AI events, which offer narrative-driven objectives without locking players into linear paths.
The visual overhaul in version 1.0 includes remastered maps, improved lighting, new character models, and updated environments. Weather effects like fog and thunderstorms add realism and change survival tactics. Players can repair and upgrade vehicles, build modular bases, and use a diverse set of tools and weapons.
HumanitZ is currently available at a 40 percent launch discount on Steam, reducing the price from $20 to $12 USD until February 20. A free demo is also available for those who want to try it before committing. The developers have confirmed that ongoing post-launch support will continue, with future updates focused on new content, optimizations, and expanded gameplay systems.
HumanitZ has positioned itself as a standout title in the zombie survival genre through its combination of challenge, flexibility, and player agency.
