Solid Snake Joins Rainbow Six Siege in First Ever Metal Gear Solid Crossover
Solid Snake revealed in Rainbow Six Siege Metal Gear Solid crossover teaser

Rainbow Six Siege is entering new territory with its latest announcement. Solid Snake is joining the game as a playable Operator. This marks the first time an external character from a non-Ubisoft title becomes fully integrated into the tactical shooter’s roster.

Ubisoft Confirms Teaser Featuring Solid Snake and Sam Fisher

The official teaser released on January 29 lasts just 15 seconds but signals a major crossover. The video opens with Sam Fisher also known as Zero in Siege appearing on a Codec style interface. This visual is a direct nod to Metal Gear Solid’s communication system.

His message “Our window is closing. We only get one shot at this” sets the tone. The scene then shifts to a smoke filled room where a mysterious figure prepares a sidearm wearing what fans recognized as Solid Snake’s signature stealth suit.

Metal Gear’s Stealth Legacy Meets Siege Gameplay

Solid Snake featured as a Rainbow Six Siege Operator in Metal Gear Solid crossover

The crossover is expected to go beyond visuals. According to known sources Solid Snake will arrive as a new Operator in Year 11 Season 1 beginning in March 2026. He is rumored to carry a custom secondary weapon inspired by the SOCOM MK23 and Wu Silent Pistol featuring

  • A built in suppressor
  • Acro optic
  • Laser aiming module

These elements mirror Snake’s weapon design from the original Metal Gear titles and emphasize his stealth focused approach.

A New Era of Playable Crossovers

This is not the first time Siege has borrowed from other game worlds but it is the first time a non-Ubisoft character becomes a functional Operator instead of a skin. Previous crossovers such as with Resident Evil or Yakuza remained purely cosmetic.

Sam Fisher remains the only other example of a guest Operator having joined in 2020 under Ubisoft’s own intellectual property. Snake’s inclusion signals a shift in Siege’s content strategy combining tactical realism with iconic gaming lore.

Reveal Date and Where to Watch

The full crossover reveal and the Year 11 roadmap will be presented during a livestream on February 15 at 8 AM PT via the official Rainbow Six Twitch channel. Ubisoft is expected to showcase new Operators upcoming gameplay updates and further details about Snake’s role.

Solid Snake’s arrival expands Rainbow Six Siege’s universe by bringing stealth gameplay iconic design and decades of gaming legacy into its competitive ecosystem.
