Black Ops 7 Season 1 Reloaded Adds 4 Classic Remastered Maps as Fan Reactions Split
Call of Duty Black Ops 7 operator finishes enemy in neon-lit city map from Season 1 Reloaded

Black Ops 7 Season 1 Reloaded adds four classic remastered multiplayer maps, combining nostalgia with new gameplay features. The lineup includes Firing Range, Slums, Grind, and a renamed version of Yemen, released across the season in phased drops.

Firing Range returns for the fifth time since its debut in the original Black Ops (2010). This small three-lane map, built on a military training ground, remains a favorite for fast-paced matches. Its familiar plywood structures and simple layout are designed for intense deathmatch combat. However, its repeated use has sparked debate among players. While some welcome the return of a fan-favorite, others criticize the developers for lacking innovation.

Many players on Reddit called the reuse “lazy,” while others argue Firing Range is a must-have in every Call of Duty title due to its flow and balance. This map last appeared in Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty Mobile but skipped the Cold War.

Slums, Grind, and Yemen offer varied gameplay experiences and are also featured this season:

  • Slums is a medium-sized map set in Panama. It features tight lanes and an exposed fountain area at its center, first seen in Black Ops 2 and later in Black Ops 3, 4, and Cold War.
  • Grind, another Black Ops 2 favorite, places players in a vibrant skate park with hybrid indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Yemen, now renamed, maintains its vertical design and close-quarters combat from earlier titles, adding new textures and layout polish.

Season 1 Reloaded also updates Warzone integration. New points of interest like Signal Station and Factory are added to Verdansk. Resurgence introduces Haven’s Hollow, an expanded version of Liberty Falls from Black Ops 6 Zombies.

New multiplayer modes include Safeguard, Overdrive, and Luck Confirmed, plus Ranked Play launches with leaderboard progression. Cosmetic rewards, a new killstreak inspired by Titanfall’s Smart Pistol, and Zombies content round out the season’s features.

Black Ops 7’s Season 1 Reloaded blends classic maps with modern gameplay, sparking both praise and criticism, but delivering content that fuels nostalgia and competitive momentum across all modes.
